Planned Parenthood: Pro Abortion Advocate

By far the loudest advocate of pro abortion issues is Planned Parenthood Federation of America. This non profit organization has been a major forerunner in this controversial topic and is by far the most outspoken advocate regarding the issue. The organization was originally founded by Margaret Sanger, a woman before her time in the acceptance and dispersion of birth control pills. Sanger was also concerned with sexual and reproductive health of both men and women and sought to address important issues that the country was facing. The first clinic Sanger opened was in Harlem in 1930. Concerned about the African American population of the country, Sanger strove to provide mental and physical health care for a minimal cost. Since abortion was illegal during this time, Sanger never officially advocated using a procedure to terminate a pregnancy, but vociferously encouraged men and women to use the proper birth control devices in order to avoid risking their lives attaining unprofessional “back alley” terminations.

From the beginning, Planned Parenthood has been a phenomenal source of pro abortion literature and information. The organization’s website, www.plannedparenthood.org, is a wealth of information regarding both the mental, physical, and political aspects of abortions. Magazine that offers further information on pro termination issues, including political and legal issues that can potentially affect the pro termination movement. From recent political appointments to studies performed about parents, children, and families, Choice! Magazine is an excellent resource for individuals of all ages and interests. Politically, the organization’s political affiliation, Planned Parenthood Action Fund is well accustomed to important issues in Washington. This arm works with grassroots organizations and other pro organizations lobby politicians for continued support when dealing with termination issues. Planned Parenthood Action Fund also strives to pass educational legislation that will include additional funding for programs inside and out of the schools that deal with sexual and reproductive issues.
