Sugar Busters Diet Plan

The Sugar busters Diet allows eating most foods in normal quantities or possibly larger ones. The sugar buster plan allows all foods as meat, cheeses, and eggs. The foods to be avoided in this diet are those, which stimulate large amounts of insulin to regulate blood sugar. The sugar buster plan is easy and helps to get slimmer and healthier simultaneously. The basis of the sugar buster’s plan is to trim fat by eliminating extra sugar. Sugar busters recommend lowering extra sugar by avoiding white rice, white bread and refined pastas.

Some more foods to be avoided are carrots, beets, and bananas. This plan suggests eating foods high in protein such as nuts, steaks, eggs and also some fruits, vegetables and whole grain cereals and breads. The Glycemic Index helps in classification of foods that can be eaten and those to be avoided. The Glycemic index classifies food based on their blood glucose response relative to a starchy food, usually white bread. Sugar busters plan states that a GI lower than forty is low, between forty and sixty is moderate and greater than sixty is high and should be avoided. It is this GI which allows for foods such as beef and cheese to be eaten while bananas and watermelon are to be avoided.

Carbohydrates are the keys to the entire sugar buster’s plan because sugar is the building block of all carbohydrates. Sugar absorbed from the digestive system motivates the secretion of insulin to transport sugars into the cells as an energy source. The certain carbohydrate eaten affects the rate that of sugar absorbed and the amount of insulin secreted. The extra insulin is then able to promote fat deposition. Carbohydrates in unrefined forms, such as whole grains, need digestive alteration before being absorbed by the body.

This results in a reduction in the amount of insulin secreted and therefore less fat storage or weight gains. When you consume foods containing carbohydrates, your body's blood sugar levels increase. The body then releases insulin to process this increase. Foods, which raise the blood sugar quickly and substantially are, called high GI foods. Those, which raise blood sugar more slowly, are called low GI foods. Some have concluded that high GI foods automatically cause the body to secrete too much insulin, leading to fat storage, obesity, and diabetes.

The Sugar Busters plan recommends that daily calorie intake is split into a 40/30/30 ratio.
