Common Fertility Tests

There are common fertility tests for both gender, male as well as female. Infertility in both men and women are common as there are many causes including abnormal levels, low sperm production and scarring of fallopian tubes. These tests prove the occurrence of pregnancy results. The male should produce sufficient quantity of sperms that are capable of fertilizing eggs where as female should produce eggs, which will fertilize and must be ovulated during monthly menstruation cycles.

Azoospermia and Oligospermia are common male factors. Cystic fibrosis or chromosomal abnormality is a genetic disease caused in male. Ovulation disorders and blockage of fallopian tubes are the common infertility problems in female and inability of the fertilized egg to implant in the uterus.

Progesterone hormone measurements proves occurrence of ovulation, Clomiphene citrate test treats ovarian reserve for fertilization of eggs. There is the other suggested test for determining the quality of eggs and is called cycle day 3 measurement of FSH and LH. For knowing whether the fallopian tube is open and free of obstruction hysterosalpingram is processed. For the evaluation and viewing of reproductive organ laparoscopy is performed and test such as endometriosis is performed during the diagnostic laparoscopy.

Sperm examination and sperm count is done commonly in male and basal body temperature is recorded each morning for several months in order to find ovulatory disorders in female. Basal body temperature can be measured using a special thermometer at your home to predict the most fertile days.

Semen analysis is the most common testing procedure for determining if there is a male factor involved as it is the mainstay of male testing. The goal of the treatment is a healthy pregnancy and the birth of one healthy infant and there are various treatments available, depending on the problem.

In vitro fertilization also called, as IVF is the course used to conceive a child outside the body. In vitro fertilization is a system of assisted reproduction that involves removing eggs from a woman's ovary, combining the egg with sperm in a dish and replacing the resulting embryos in the woman's uterus.
