Tips For Caring for Your False Teeth
Caring for your False teeth is just as important as caring for your natural ones. Unfortunately cleaning false ones isn't as easy as natural ones. There are several steps to take when taking care of false teeth.
After taking them out, the first thing you should do is use warm water to wash away the visible food particles. The correct water temperature is critical because water that is too hot may cause them to warp. During this step it is wise to fill the sink with water first so as not to break them.
The next step in caring for them is to use denture cleaning paste. You can apply this paste with a soft-bristled toothbrush or a denture specific toothbrush. Regular toothpaste and hard-bristled toothbrushes should not be used because they can cause damage. After all surfaces have been scrubbed, be sure to rinse with warm water thoroughly.
You're not done yet! After you are done cleaning, let them soak in a denture cleanser overnight. This will give them that added clean feel. You don't want to put anything in your mouth that isn't sanitary and free of germs/bacteria.
Just because you have false gnashers doesn't mean you get to throw away your regular toothpaste. There is more in your mouth to clean then just teeth. Make sure you brush your tongue and gums with a soft-bristled toothbrush. This will get rid of any plaque on these surfaces and will prevent gum disease and bad breath. It also stimulates the gums and creates effective blood flow and circulation.
Having false molars doesn't rid you of proper oral hygiene responsibilities. If anything, it makes your hygiene responsibilities more numerous. You should treat them just like they were your natural ones. They need to be thoroughly brushed and rinsed daily. Make sure to keep the rest of your mouth clean as well. You don't want any more oral problems. Caring for false teeth is very important to denture wearers.
